Comment on I’ll be home for Christmas | The magic of ruby red slippers by Julienne Latham RN Nurse Consultant, RHM https://staging.meaningfulcarematters.com/2023/12/ill-be-home-for-christmas/#comment-1342 Tue, 05 Dec 2023 18:52:51 +0000 https://staging.meaningfulcarematters.com/?p=21475#comment-1342 This is very tribute to the true meaning of home, Christmas and for me personally, the love of shoes. I have kept one pair of baby shoes for children and just to touch them brings back great memories. Merry Christmas to all of the MCM family.

Comment on Just Doing our Job by Becky Moore https://staging.meaningfulcarematters.com/2021/11/just-doing-our-job-2/#comment-1200 Thu, 19 Jan 2023 08:35:21 +0000 http://staging.meaningfulcarematters.com/?p=2860#comment-1200 Great article. But I do think, having observed the carers relatives have had looking after them, and knowing a number of carers, that this isnt ‘just’ empathy. It’s experience, it’s understanding how to give dignity to people, how to encourage and assist, how to make conversation with people who might be living with alternative realities. Those are real skills. Such a travesty that they arent rewarded with decent pay for what is the most important job in the world. I read the other day about the owner of a care home chain payung himself £21 million over 4 years while his emoloyees are getting minimum wage, and are short staffed.
